Runddy Ramilo is the Founder and Managing Director of IDA. He is an APEC Architect, LEED Green Associate specializing in hospitality design, urban hotel and resorts planning. He did his Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture at Deakin University Australia and UTM with Merit Award, Master of Science in Construction Management and Bachelor of Science in Architecture as Scholar from Philippines.
His expertise in hospitality design and planning was gained through 20 years of work experience in prestigious and world best hospitality design firms in Singapore. He was with Aedas as Associate, Design Manager at Wilson Associates and Associate at Designphase Hospitality. During his stay with these companies, he designed enormous number of luxury branded hotel and resorts projects in Asia Pacific and the Middle East such as Hilton, Langham, Shangri-la, Hyatt, Sheraton, Taj, Radisson, W Hotels, and some other boutique hotels in Singapore.
Aside from design practice, he is also into design research and teaching in a doctorate level. He was a doctorate researcher at National University of Singapore and Deakin University Australia and a Senior Lecturer in different universities in the Philippines such as USC, FEU and AdU. His research interests fall within three focused areas: 1) contemporary hospitality design (2) digital innovation to improve architectural practices and the built environment and (3) sustainable design for the tropics. His research journals were published in high impact international journals such as Frontiers of Architectural Research (Elsevier), Journal of Information Technology in Construction (ITCON), Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, (Elsevier), Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, (Elsevier) and Journal of Engineering, Construction and Architectural Management.
While managing IDA, Runddy continues to retain strong alliances with large global firms while focused on IDA to design and deliver high quality design solutions in planning, architecture and interior design. His leadership with IDA has made the firm one of the fastest growing and recognized firms in the Philippines.
He is a member of American Institute of Architects, Singapore Institute of Architects, Interior Confederation of Singapore and the Charter President of United Architects of the Philippines in Singapore.
